1820 Butler Co KY
Oliver C. Porter 2m -10, 1m 16-26 [not incl as 16-18, so older than 18], 2m 26-45 [one of these would be Oliver]
1f -10, 1f 16-26, 1f 26-45
Census indicate Oliver moved to Ohio County between 1820 and 1830.

1830 Ohio Co KY
Oliver C. Porter. 1m -5, 1m 5-10, 1m 20-30, 1m 30-40, 1m 40-50 [Oliver], 1m 90-100 [This mark is between Oliver's line and the line following - could belong to either. 2 slaves for a total of 9 in the household which is one too few if this older man is included, but then past the total is a "1". The household on the line following has the correct total without this old man.]
1f 10-15 [Sarah who married Chapman], 1f 30-40

CHAPMAN, Robert married PORTER, Sally 12-JAN-1836; Ohio Co KY

1840, Ohio Co KY.
Oliver C. Porter, 1m 10-15; 2m 20-30; 1m 40-50 [Oliver but earlier & later censuses indicate he was older] and 1f age 40-50

Oliver is in the 1850 Ohio Co KY Census with 2nd wife Jane. Oliver age 63, b. VA; Jane age 60, b. NC. Also Sarah Chapman age 33 and her probable daughter Elisa Chapman age 10. Porters in the household are Cunan/Curan, age 26 (male & marked Deaf & Dumb]), James age 22, and Oliver age 5, surely a grandchild.

1860 Census, Cromwell Town, Ohio Co KY.
p.790, Dwelling 1433 O. C. Porter age 73, born in VA. Farmer. Real estate value $32,240, Personal property at 12, 700. Jane age 60, b. NC. Curson age 40, Carpenter. James A. 32, Wharfmaaster. John Porter age 18, Laborer [his surname is repeated - he may have been a grandson]. Then Elvis, age 8 [Female] is listed as a Boarder.

If information passed along from Porter researchers is correct, Curran was possibly a son of the first wife, and James a son of Jane. There were likely other children.

Served in the War of 1812 and has a marker in the Porter Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Butler Co, KY.
