Full name from Jean & Paul Morton. He served in the Civil War as a Private in the 9th MO Infantry (CSA).
In the 1870 Crawford County AR Census, his nephews William, & Sherrod Morton, sons of James Quin Morton are in his household.
Listed in 1911 Census as Confederate Veteran in Crawford County - reprint in "Panning for Nuggets of Gold", Vol. 7, No.1; Spring 1986; copied by Allen Co Public Library Mar 1999.
