There is a problem with this birth date for Edward which was found on FamilySearch. His mother's petition for divorce states that Silas Hoskins had abandoned his family about 15 Sept 1834 - yet Edward born in December of 1835. I suspect that he was born in 1834 instead, a few months after his father's departure.

Research done by a member of the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Genealogical Society suggested there was an Edward H. Hoskins, born in Ohio about 1833 listed in a civil war registration. I believe this was a very different Edward.

The same researcher explained that there was an early cemetery in Taycheedah between the two tracts of land owned by Peter A. Hoskins and his widowed mother, Amanda. This cemetery was plowed over in the 1950's. There is apparently no existing list of the burials. Likely Edward would have been buried there, and a few years later, his mother.
