I found an Indiana marriage for Peter A. Hoskins to Lavina Pierce, Vigo Co IN, 20 April 1848. His uncle, M. H. Allen, JP, officiated.
"State of Indiana, County of Vigo
I hereby certify that on the 20th day of April, 1848 I joined together as husband & wife Peter A Hoskins & Lavina Pierce. Given under my hand and seal this the 22nd day of April 1848.
M. H. Allen J.P. "

In 1850 they were already in Wisconsin.

Although someone has posted on FamilySearch that Peter died 11 Nov 1885 - his page on FindAGrave has a date of death as 28 Nov 1885. There is no picture of a stone, but there is a description of the plot and a note that states the stone is unreadable. Neodosha Cemetery, Wilson Co, KS. Old Addition, Block 1, Lot 250, Space 2 Lavina is not noted as buried there.
