The family left Madison Co KY in 1837 and settled in what would be Schuyler Co, MO In 1848, the family moved to Arkansas along with the Thomas Wood & John Johnson families. They lived first in Washington Co AR for about 4 years, then about 1852 moved to Crawford. Co AR.

1850 Census, living in Washington Co AR in Cove Crk Twp; his parents were living with them. Oldest daughter, b. 1837, was born in KY. John, Sherrod, Milton & Thomas born in MO. Sarah born in Arkansas.

History of Crawford County, Arkansas, by Clara Eno has in Chapter 5 a list of brief deed abstracts. These were apparently compiled prior to the Crawford Co courthouse fire. It's regrettable that she did offer enough information, but her purpose seemed to be an attempt to identify wives.

Thomas Jefferson Asbill and one of his sons were murdered at the family farm on Lee Creek during the Civil War.
