[The date of his marriage to Mary Bott, as 1768, York Co PA, is from research of Karen Stone. another research gives a marriage to Marie Catherina Bott about 1767..]
He is given another wife, Hannah - but no dates to determine if she was first or second.
A Francis was an Ensign of 1st Company, 5th Battalion of York County Pennsylvania Militia during the Revolution - either this is a different Francis, or the militia group was formed in earlier years, because he appears to be in Rowan Co by 1772.
Winklers are in the early Rowan Co NC tax lists. Ludwig/Lewis thought to be the same man.
