Filed for Confederate Pension 26 Jan 1914 from Parker Co, Texas, P.O. Millsap. A. T. Thomas was discharged at Montgomery, AL in April, 1865, the war having closed. He was 67 years old, born near Montgomery, AL. He had lived in Texas since the fall of 1899. He had lived in Parker Co about five years except part of the previous year was in Red River Co. He is a farmer but can't work much due to sunstroke and rheumatism. He served from the fall of 1864 until April of 1865 in Company C, 53rd Regt, AL Cavlary. J. H. Humphreys was Capt. Hannan was Col.
He had no home and nothing subject to taxation.
W. M. Reasoner & G. W. Reasoner were his witnesses.
W. C. (x) Headly testified on his behalf - he knows Mims personally and had served in the same company & regiment in Alabama.
A. C. Mims testified on the 19 of March 1914. He was the brother of A. T. Mims and he knows he served as stated. He was not in the same company but in the Artillery at the same time and he often met his brother while they were in service, Fall and early winder of 1864.
Application for Mortuary Warrant, by Mrs. M. E. Weldon. A. T. Mims died on 5 Jan 1923 in Millsap, Parker Co, TX. She is his daughter and lives in Millsap. She is responsible for his estate. J. P. Baxter, Undertaker stated that A. T. Mims died on the 5th of Jan in 1923 and the body was prepared for burial by him and buried Fairview Cemetery, Parker Co, TX.
N. E. Dick, MD, attended A. T. Mims in his last illness - he died of general debility due to old age.

Arthur Thomas Mims is buried Fairview Cemetery, Millsap, Parker Co, TX. He has a military stone. He was a Private in Co C., 53rd Regt. Alabama Cavalry, CSA. Rhoda does not appear to be buried there.

Texas Death Certificate #2752 for A. T. Mimms Sr. Died 4 Jan 1923, Millsap, Parker Co, TX of geneal debility from senility. He was born 11 Jul 1845 in Alabama. He was widowed and had been a farmer. Famer listed as A. Mimms, b. SC; no mother listed. W. A. Mimms of Mineral Wells ws the informant. Buried Fairview Cemetery, June 6th.
