Clanton, Ala.,Sept 12 - Funeral rites were conducted here this afternoon for Mrs. Evelyn Maddox Wigley, age 24, who passed at a Birmingham hospital following wounds received in Gadsden recently when a shooting affray occurred in a hotel room and Highway Patrolman Wigley was killed. She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Maddox of Clanton; one brother, J. C. Maddox, also of Clanton. Services were held from the home of her parents, with the Revs. Oscar A. Davis & G. G. Williams in charge and burial was in the Clanton Cemetery.
