Death record transcript shows father as J. M. "Cosby" - I believe that's an error. Mother was Frances Ann Bates. Gave her age as 79, which places her birth back about 5 years - probably also an error - except that it does agree with her first census record in 1880. She was older than her husband - perhaps just didn't want to be that much older!

FindAGrave lists her parents as James Tyler Cooley and Frances Ann.
