Elezar was born the 17th of the 4th month, 1651 [old style dating]
Name given in Beekman Patent book as "Ebenezer" but it also says name may have been Eleazer. Married Eleanor Smith. [Town records of Providence refer often to Eleizer/Eleazer Arnold but never an Ebenezer.]
Early Town Records of Providence:
Will dated 25 Aug 1722; died 29 Aug 1722. No wife mentioned but named three sons Joseph, John, and Jeremiah "Jeremy"; daughter in law Sarah Arnold, widow of deceased son Eleazer and her sons Eleazar and David; daughters Phebe Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Ellener Arnold, Mary Thomas, Abigail Man; granddaughter Deborah Smith. Three sons to be joint Executors. Witnesses by Joseph Jenckes, Silvanus Scott, William Hopkins. Estate appraised 19 Sep 1722 by Thomas Arnold and Thomas Comestock.

We then went to the Eleazar Arnold house in Lincoln, which dates to 1693 and is one of the oldest remaining houses in Rhode Island. It’s referred to as a “stone-ender” because there’s a massive stone fireplace and chimney that takes up nearly all of one end of the house. Eleazar Arnold was a brother to our direct ancestor Elizabeth (Arnold) Comstock, hence a great uncle to us, and also a brother to Richard Arnold. The house is located on the Great Road, which was the road between Providence and Worcester, MA and which the Comstocks and Arnolds helped to build - we drove along part of it - very scenic. The house doubled as a tavern and way station for travelers.
