James Bean's land was sold at auction of July 1858 to his creditors Russel M. Kinnaird & Thomas. L. Bransford. Land was described as "...on a dry creek waters of Blackburn's Fork of Roaring River. First tract of 200 acres by survey bearing date 4 April 1831 ....crossing said creek ...near William Swearingin ...including James Bean's barn and mil and the place where said James Bean lived on 3 Aug 1831 and which tract was granted by the State of Tennessee to James Bruington, Grant No. 3297 and he transferred to James Bean. Second tract ...100 acres ...surveyed 2 Jun 1836 ...Blackburn's Fork adj. James Watson ...Garland Anderson ...including Aaron Bean's old sugar camp Grant No. 6739. Also one other tract by entry made by James Bean for 1300 acres on waters of Blackburn's Fork ...adj Roland Lawson [sic-probably Robert Lawson] ...Swearingin ...entered 29 April 1841 ..."

Signed 25 Mar 1834.
State of Tenneessee #6729. Entry No. 2184, Jackson County, 24 Mar 1835, under Act of General Assembly on 9 Jan 1830. James Bean - 100 acres surveyed 2 Jun 1836. On waters of Blackburn's Ford of Roaring River; white oak on James Bruington's north boundary line; hickory in East boundary line of James Watson's 50 acres; on Dry Creek supposed to be Garland Anderson's corner; crosses Dry Creek.
