1880 Census. Chambers Co TX, p.4D, Hh 11
Anna Hayden, age 41, b. AL, parents born in NC
Children all born in Texas: Robbie, 21, daughter. John P., 19, son. Anna, 15, dau. William, 13, son. Charles, 11, son. James, 9, son. Richard, 4, son. Hopkins, 2, Son.
1910 Census. San Antonio, Ward 4, Bexar Co, TX. Enumerated 20th April. Sheet 8B, ED ?51 [faded out]
115 West Magnolia Ave, Dwelling 145, Family 146
G. M. Kelley, head of household, age 52, married 29 years, b. Texas, father b. Ireland, mother b. TX. Occupation appears to be Bar Pilot, a word I can't read, then "vessels". [sounds like something to do with boats to me, which could explain a move to Galveston, but that becomes evident later]
A. E. Kelley, wife, age 45, married 29 yrs, 4 children, all 4 still living, b. Texas, father b. Mississippi, mother b. Alabama
George, son, age 20, b. in Texas as were his parents.
A. E. Haden, mother-in-law, age 70, Widow, had 9 children, 7 are living. Born Alabama, parents b. in North Carolina [which agrees with the 1880 census]
Anna seems to have been counted twice:
1910 Census. Justice Precinct 3, Harris Co, TX [written in margin - Cedar Bayou, Hh 385
R. D. Haden, age 34, b. TX, parents b. MS, has own income
E. A., mother, age 75, widowed. Had 5 children, 3 are living. Born Alabama as were her parents.
Strangely enough, the Kelley family was also enumerated in Galveston in 1910, without Anna.
