Individual Details

John Jackson

(Abt 1727 - Abt 1788)

John's wife was Sarah, surname unknown.

From his father's will, John rec'd 200 acres at lower of Beaver Pond Branch in Amelia. He signed his own will in 1788 as John Jackson Sr, indicating perhaps a younger John. His wife's given name was Sarah.

He first appears on tax records of Amelia Co VA, 1739, on Edward Booker's list between Deep & Flatt Tracts. He had one tithable. Beginning in 1763, he was taxed as John Jackson Sr - suggesting a younger John in the area and his will names a son as John. He was taxed through 1787 - wife Sarah appears only 1788 after his death.
