Memorandum, January the Eighteenth in the year one Thousand seven hundred & forty five
I, Peter Aldrich of Uxbridge in the County of Worcester in the province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England Yeoman, desire to give thanks, to God for that perfection of meind & memory that he hath bestowed upon me & that still continueth me in yet calling to mind the mortality of my Body & Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die and being desirous to settle that outward estate that God hath blessed me withall & in order thereunto I make & ordain this my Last Will & Testament that is to say principally first of all I give & Recomment my soul in the hand of God that gave it hoping thro the ments Death & passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to Have full & free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins & to inherit Ever lasting Life and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I hall receive of same again by the almighty power of God and as Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me in this Life I give demiss & dispose of ye same in following manner & form (that is to say)
Firstly I will that all those Debts & Duties, as I do owe in Right or Conveyence to any manner of person or persons whatforever shall be well & truely contested & paid or ordained to be paid in convenient time after my decease by my Executors hereafter named.
Item I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Hannah Aldrich the old end of my now dewelling house with half of cellar with a third part of improveable Estate both as to tillage & mowing & pasture land in & such a part of it wood lott as shall be sufficient for her use during her natural life and lifewise two cows & my saddle horse & six sheep & one swine & likewise so much barn room as shall be sufficent for her creatures both for foder to keep them & room to place them in & likewise one half of household moveables throughout.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Huldah Johnson or to her heirs five pounds in money of gold tenor & two sheep.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Elison and to her heirs about four acres of Land lying near their dwelling house beginning at as take & heap of stones which is a corner of Elison's land southward of his house thence runing southwesterly to a heap of stones then turning & runing northwesterly to a Great white oak mark then turning & runing northeaterly to his father land westward of House.
Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter Deborah Eliot & to her heirs four acres of land be it more or be less bounded as followeth begining at a heap of stones on a rok which if abound of Eliphates Warfields land then runing southeasterly to a heap of stones then turning northerly to a heap of stones then turning & running westerly to a Black Oak Stand or to Hannah Elison's land then turning & running to a first bound mentioned.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mehatabel Eliot & to her heirs two acres of Land taken off from the Eaterly end of my land which lyeth joyning to David Eliot's land begining at a stake which is a corner of land said David Eliot purchased of Moses Thompson, said two acres is for to be of an equal breath from End to end likewise four sheep.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margery Martin & to her heirs the sum of twenty & five pounds in money of the gold Tenor.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha McNomarra and to her heirs the sum of twenty & five pounds in money of gold tenor.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Peter Aldrich & to his heirs all my land already not disposed of lying on the westerly side of the Great River with a certain tract lying joyning to David Eliots land northerly & westerly on common southerly partly on land laid to me and part laid out to Major Daniel Lovett and partly on common of said land was laid out to me and part thereof I purchased of Edward & Dinah Aldrich which is part of a greater tract of Land given by my brother Seth Aldrich to four of his daughters and the purchased land is one full quarter thereof both as to quantity & quality & remaining it undivided more abut five acres lying on both sides of the road laid out to Joseph Thompsons land near John Ellisons House & is joyning to said Ellisons land more about five acres lying on a westerly side of John Springs land & when laid out was bounded on all sides on common as it record of said land shall make it to appear.
Finally I constitute and ordain my well beloved son Peter Aldirch sold Executor of this my Last will & Testament ordering as above to carefully to fullfill each clause in the same by paying all my just debts and by being carefull of aged mother by letting her enjoy in a free way & manner all that is above willed to her & likewise for to cut & bring home so much firewood as shall be necessary for her age for one fire at all times of year and for to look after her creatures for her as shall be needfull although I have before of making of this my last will and testament made over the improvable part of my estate by a deed of sale to my said son whom I have ordained to be my exdecutor willing & bequeathing to my son Peter Aldrich over & above what is above mentioned the two thirds of my househod moreables throughout not as yet willed & likewise all my stock of creatures not before disposed of & not he shall pay to his sister what money is aboce willed to them in the space of one year after my decease & my will is that each of my children rest satisfied & contented with what I have willed & bequeathed unto them over and above what I have heretofore in my life time done for them & my will & pleasure is that my executor shall have all the money or bills bonds or notes which shall be due to me at my decease memorandum, before signing of clause rosedout in ye latter part off of widows due & two sheep ye word & the word & to her words he shall it was done...Peter aldirch *apeal...this Last Will & Testament as signed sealed and openly pronounced on the day & year above said to be his Last Will & Testament in the presence & hearing of us.
