COMSTOCK - February 3, at her residence, Evanston, Ill. Julia Sprage Comstock, widow of the late Hon. Charles Comstock and beloved mother of Alex G. Comstock of this city. [She was actually Alexander's stepmother]

Mrs. Charles Comstock died Saturday night at her residence, 1326 Ridge Ave, Evanston. she was born Dec 18, 1825 at Hannibal, Oswego Co, NY. Her parents were Dr. Philetus and Laura Sprague. She was married in 1842 to Charles Comstock. They came to Evanston in 1862. Mr. Comstock at one time was President of the Traders Insurance Company and a member of the Board of Trade. The children are William C., A. S., and Alice J. Comstock, Mrs. W. H. cutler and Mrs. George W. Whitefield. The funeral will be held tuesday at 2:30 o'clock at St. Mark's Church, Evanston.
