Individual Details
John Lincoln
(3 May 1716 - 1788)
John was the only son born to Hannah. There were five daughters, one of whom died in infancy in New Jersey. He was about age 20 when his father died. There is some tradition that he returned to New Jersey where his father may have land. At some point he learned the weaver's trade and if he left Pennsylvania, he had returned by the establishment of Berks Co in 1752, where his name appears often.
5 Jul 1743, John married Rebecca Flowers Morris, widow of James Morris by whom she had one son. She was the daughter of Enoch & Rebecca Flowers of Lancaster Co, PA.
John's sons were Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, John, and Thomas. There were four daughters - Hannah, Lydia, Sarah & Rebecca.
In 1765, John sold all his Pennsylvania lands and moved to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. He was still alive in Aug 1773.
