Francis Maybury

(Ca 1748 - Ca 1818)

Francis apparently maintained a home in Pittsylvania Co VA, but was also a merchant, Indian trader and land speculator on the frontier of Tennessee. It is thought he married (1) Mary Hinds and (2) Mrs. Mary (Dix) Wilson of Pittsylvania Co in 1797. There is circumstantial evidence, according to The Maybury Family, Vol. 17, No. 2, Spring 2011, that he was the father of a James Mabry, killed by Indians in 1792, Richard Mabry, who was the Register in Hawkins Co TN in 1790, and Seth Mayberry of Jackson Co, TN.
