Seth Mayberry. 4m -10, 2m 10-16, 1m 26-45 [Seth]; 1f -10, 1f 26-45
This would have been Seth's first wife. Both wives were named Rebecca. The surname of the first is unknown. About 1823, Seth married Rebecca Allen, daughter of George Allen. Rebecca Allen was born in Greenville Dist SC in 1791 and moved to Jackson Co TN with her brother Jesse. In 1820, she was living with Jesse's widow, Rebecca Allen.
Based on this census in 1820, Seth and his first wife likely had other children whose names have been lost - probably two older sons and a daughter.

Seth Maberry enters 30 acres on the South side of Roaring River. Begin on birch sd Maberry's corner of a 50 acres survey thence with with John Buris South boundary line. To include an improvement made by Maberry. 3 Nov 1834.
Seth's father is likely Francis Maybury, trader & land speculator from Pittsylvania Co VA who was present in the future state of TN as early as 1785. He was probably a son of George Mabury Jr, who was a brother to my ancestor Isaac Mabury.
Francis Maybury purchased numerous warrants in both East & Middle Tennessee. He had a partner named Thomas Jackson; both lived in Hawkins Co Tn. There was also a James & Richard Maybury in Hawkins Co - quite likely sons of Francis. In March of 1797, Francis Maybury of Hawkins Co sold 200 acres on waters of the Roaring River in Jackson Co to Archibald Simpson. This land was described as beginning at the corner of a Maybury survey of 853 acres, part of a larger survey of 2560 acres. Francis Maybury was on the tax list of Jackson Co in 1801 and in 1802. Seth Maybury also lived on the Roaring River in Jackson Co.
