Rites held for TCI worker, A. D. Maddox
A. D. Maddox, 58, 4304 Avenue F, Fairfield, died yesterday morning after a brief illness.
He had been employed for the past 14 years in the Ensley works of the Tennessee Coal and Iron Division of the US Steel Corp.
Mr. Maddox was born in Chilton County. He was formerly a merchant in Clanton.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Belle Maddox; a daughter Mrs. W. W. Massey of Fairfield; two brothers, Joe A. Maddox of Clanton and Jadie A. Maddox of Birmingham; three sisters, Mrs. Tommie Mims and Mrs. Sam Nations, both of Clanton, and Mrs. Ed Moats, Columbiana; two granddaughters, Barbara & Linda Maddox.
Funeral services were held today an Angwin's in Ensley. The Rev. Ralph D. Field officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Nephews were active pallbearers.
