Alabama death index reports that William Linsey Mims, born about 1903, died 15 Aug 1945 in Clanton, age 42. His wife at that time was Mary H. Mims. Parents were Eliga P. Mims and Martha Johnson. Buried Concord Cemetery, Clanton.

WILLIE L. MIMS DIED
Willie L. Mims, age 42, passed away at the residence August 15th at 7 pm after several months illness. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:30 pm from Concord Church, conducted by Rev. A. S. Bentley, Rev. A. T. Hickman and Rev. R. W. Stuckey. Interment was in the church cemetery with Spigener Funeral Home in charge.
....He is survived by the wife, Mary Mims, one son, Kenneth; one daughter, Judy; one step-daughter, Doris Smith, all of Clanton; the father, Mr. Elijah Mims; five brothers - Ollie of Birmingham, Enoch of Montgomery, Virgil, Melvin & Clyde all of Clanton. There are three sisters - Mrs. W. G. Taylor, Mrs. G. J. Easterling and Mrs. A. J. Maddox, all of Clanton.

Also buried at Concord and said to be a son is
Julius E. Mims, b. 10 May 1924, d. 20 Aug 1945, Cascade, Valley Co, Idaho. Stone shows "PFC Julius E. Mims". This is NOT a son of William Linsey - Julius was a son of Enoch Calvin Mims & Lillian Collins - as plainly stated on his death certificate. He was with Enoch & Lillian in the 1930 Census as well.

Said to be another son and buried at Concord - but this is ALSO a son of Enoch

It is notable that William Linsey Mims had no children in his household in 1930. Julius & Jim E. Mims are both living with Enoch and wife Lillian.

Also said to be a son and buried Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham, Shelby Co, AL - since the others are wrong, this one seems to be wrong, too - No such child with him in 1940.

Herman Donald "Doc" Mims, age 74, or Alabaster, AL, passed away on July 7, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Inez Mims; 4 children, Don Mims (Kathryn), Donna Blakenship (Paul), Doug Mims (lisa) and Lonnie Mims (Laura); 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Doc was well-respected in the printing business for his entire career. He was a member of Kingwood Assembly of God.
Funeral services will be held on July 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
