In 1810, John is found in the Caswell Co NC Census.
16 Nov 1810 Caswell DB Q, p.231 John Mimms was one of the commissioners to lay off dower for Nancy Foster on Moon's Creek.

Daughter Frances is underage. Son Thomas Banister (land east of testator adj. Abner Miles, Col. Thomas Graves). Exec: Richard Jones, Martin, J. Mims, Thomas B. Mims, and John W. Mims. Wit: Abner Miles, James Adkins. Richard Jones & John W. Mims qualified as executors.
