Dorcas said to be the daughter of Ambrose Dudley and Judith Scott. This is questionable.

An Ambrose Dudley lived in New Kent Co VA - he was of the age to be a brother to Dorcas. On 29 Sep 1736 he was chosen Vestryman, then elected Church Warden in Oct 1738. At that Oct meeting he also was security for the tobacco collector, Walter Clopton. He was a processioner in 1751 and 1755. He served on the Vestry continuously until 1758, the end of these minutes, including a second term as Church Warden in 1747. Children born to Ambrose and recorded in the Register included William, b. 1733 and James born 2 April 1736 and baptised on May 9 - their mother was Elizabeth. He perhaps married again as Ambrose & Hannah Dudley were the parents of William, born 18 Dec 1753 and James, born 27 Feb 1758.
