Mrs. Haggard Dead
Prominent Columbian Passed Away Saturday Evening. Burial today at Hallsville.
Mrs. Crotia Haggard died at her residence on Paris Road at 7 o'clock Saturday evening. Mrs. Haggard had long been a sufferer from asthma and its complications,; still her condition was not regarded as dangerous until Saturday morning when the family telegraphed for her son, Price Haggard, to come home.
Mrs. Haggard whose maiden name was Stevenson, was born in Clark County, KY, on Jan. 30th 1836 and moved to Boone County with her father in 1858. In 1868 she was married to Mr. A. B. Haggard one of the county's most prominent citizens. Mr. Haggard died at Hallsville on Oct. 14th, 1890, since which time Mrs. Haggard and her family have lived in Columbia. Mrs. Haggard leaves two daughters, Misses Cynthia and Mary, and one son, Mr. Beverly Price Haggard. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Jacob Brockman and her brother, J. R. Stevenson of Merced, CA...

Mrs. Crotia A. Haggard -- Crotia A. Stephenson was born in Clark County, Kentucky, January 30, 1836. She came with her parents to Boone County, Missouri, February 27, 1868; she was married to A. B. Haggard, of Hallsville, Missouri, where he died some years ago. Mrs. Haggard moved to Columbia in 1893, and residen here until her death last Saturday, January 7, 1905. The children suvive, and their names are Cinnie, Mary, and Price, all of whom were born in the county. Mrs. Haggard was seriously sick but a day or two. Her general health, however, had not been robust for many years. Brief devotional exercises were conducted by the pastor, Dr. M. I. Thomas, at the family residence on Paris Road at 8 am Monday, and at 11 am, at the country church near Hallsville, where a large company of old neighbors and friends gathered to show their respect and sympathy, the remains were interred. Mrs. Haggard was a person of sterling character. Her bereaved children have the consolence of a large circle of personal and family friends.

Mrs. Grotia (sic) Haggard, born in this county sixty-nine years ago, died near Columbia, MO, on the 7th. Her maiden name was Stevinson and she married A. B. Haggard in 1868. She leaves three children. She visited here a few years ago.
