Joseph Clarke Anthony

(Ca 1789 - Bet Apr 1811 and Nov 1811)

The following abstracts of documents reveal that Joseph C. Anthony married Elizabeth [Betty/Betsy] Aycock and had a single child, William Augustine Anthony, before his early death. In 1808, when his father had written his will, he mentioned that Joseph C. was at that time not yet of age. The young widow married again, to William Robinson, 3 May 1814.

In 1810, Joseph C. Anthony made a trip to Jasper Co to bring Thos. Williams to prove the will of his father. Williams had been a witness to the will.

it appears Joseph may have witnessed the following will in April of 1811 - his own will was probated in November of that year.
Will of William Bostick. To wife Mary, all estate for life; final division to children. To youngest boys Berry and James B., bed, furniture, etc. as the rest of the children have received, and a tract of land in Morgan Co. on Jack's Creek. Dau. Amy Nowlan to have $1 only. James B. to be trained in architecture. Exrs: wife, sons Azariah and Berry. Signed 4 Apr 1811, Probated 1 Jul 1811. Wit: Joseph Anthony, William Saffold, Reuben Blakey.
