Sarah Ann Goodman

(1834 - )

Sarah is thought to be the daughter of a Sarah, perhaps Sarah Currier, first married to a Terrell Goodman, who by 1850 was living with her second husband Samuel Campbell. He is believed to also have been previously married.

1850 Census. Civil District 2, Lewis Co, TN, Hh 573

Children all b. TN; Sally A. Goodman, age 16

Family writings indicate that Sarah & Arch were first cousins. Deeds from Perry Co indicate that Arch's father Asa did not have a brother Terrell, although it cannot be completely ruled out. It does seem likely that Arch's grandfather, Alexander may have had a brother named Terrell. There is a Terrell, with wife Eliza, living in Lewis Co in 1850 - he is thought to be the son of John & Mary Robertson Goodman. Quite possibly there were two men named Terrell - cousins, or uncle and nephew.

The same family writings also identify the wife of Asa Davidson Goodman as Catherine Roberts rather than DePriest. Also Sarah Currier is said to have had a brother Terrell Currier, Jr. Samuel Campbell is referred to as "Si Camble"; Louis & Wyley Camble as half brothers.

Tennessee Death Certificate of Sallie A. Goodman. Born 13 Oct 1834, died 19 Jan 1918, age 83 years, 3 months, 6 days. She had paralysis and lost consciousness; old age contributed to her death. She was buried Hopewell Cemetery on 21 Jan 1918.
