Daniel Comstock
(12 May 1656 - 15 Dec 1725)
Early Town Records show a correction of his age. 10 Feb 1667 he is accounted one year older than previously recorded - will be twelve years old the next May. So he may have been born in 1655 rather than 1656.
This is apparently the Daniel Comstock who was apprenticed out to William Carpenter until age 21 by the Town of Providence 26 Nov 1662, as recorded in "The Early Records of the Town of Providence" Vol 3. Referred to as "Daniell Comstocks, Ann Comstocks son".
The Early Records of the Town of Providence:
Vol III, p.30 ...Ladd named Daniell Coomstock who hath for som tyme benn resident with Tho. Walling, (who lately lived in this Towne of Providence) ...Said Tho. Walling being now departed ..Mary Walling (wife unto the said Thomas Walling) having made her addresse unto the Towne, humbly desireing of them to take som Course with the said Ladd Daniell for the bringing of him up, shee the said Mary not being able any Longer to take care of him... [late in the year 1661]
Vol III, p.32 Towne meeting 28 Feb 1662/3 "Age of Daniell Comstock, (whome the Towne hat put apprentis unto William Carpenter of Pautuxett) in the next May ensueing, Eight yeares of Age. Dilligent inquierie having been made concerning his Age, and it is so found.
Vol.III, p.121 mistake in 16th page re the Age of Daniell Comstock. ...we order his age to now recorded according as it is Testefied by Samuel Bennett and Mary Pray...to our Knowledge Daniell Comstocks, Ann Comstocks son, now Dwelling with Mr. William Carpenter is the next May twelve yeares old...
Vol. XV, p. 93 25 Apr 1663. Indenture. witnesseth that daniell Coomstock the sonne of Samuell Coomstock late of Providence deceased hath of his own free will and with the consent of the Towne of Providence hath put himselfe an appretice unto William Carpenter senior of Pautuxit and after the maner of an apprentice with him to dwell from the day of the date hereof untell the daniell shall Come to bee of the age of one and twety yeares....

Vol.XV, p.119 Feb 16 1667 or 1668. Mary Pray testifies "daneil Comstock ann Comstockes son now dwelling with mr. wilam Carphender is the next Maiy ....eleven years old the Begining of the month by me.
Vol XV, p. 173-174 Ordered 4 Jun 1677 "vewe" of all the books which belong to ye sd Towne reveals "The Towne Counsells will upon the Esstate of Samuell Comstock: deceased, is wanting. [so it was already lost] The Indenture of Daniell Comstock is among the papers. Signed Arthur ffenner and John Whipple Junr. Oct 27 1677.
Vol XV, p.179-180 Town books are received from John Whipple Jr and listed by Rogers Williams and Daniell Abbot. 12 Aug 1678. The Indenture of Daniell Comstock is still there.
The Comstock Family in America book says that Daniel moved to Lyme, Connecticut near his Uncle John and that he served in King Philip's War, receiving land in Voluntown, CT. The earlier books by Cyrus B. Comstock ascribed his children to a John. Samuel W. Comstock states that the Town of Lyme called him "John". Daniel did have a first cousin John but John left a will naming his children.

Danlel of Lyme ls son of Samuel (2) R. I.; married Alse, daughter of Balthasar De Wolf of Lyme, Conn. She was born about 1658 and died before 1710. He married, second, Marv Baldwin of Milford, Conn.
Children:
Daniel, in 1709, was in the expedition formed against Canada in Major
Livingston's Company. Colonel Willlam Whiting's Regiment, died 1712 in North Guilford, Conn.;
Marah, born 1685, married Anna, born 1686-7
Danlel, Sr„ died in Lyme Conn., 1725, left a good estate, some of hls lands being soldier grants in Voluntown, Conn.
