Thomas and Milly both believed buried Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, East Bend, Yadkin Co, NC. She was born 19 Feb 1810, died 18 Nov 1891. One descendant claims she died in Missouri, but that seems unlikely since she died only three years after Thomas died and was quite elderly.


Mattie [Martha] E. Poindexter, unmarried, applied 24 Aug 1896, to the Dawes Commission. She was the daughter of John A. and Paulina Poindexter. John A. was a son of Thomas H., who was a son of William Pledge Poindexter. By 1900 Mattie was married.

Frances Poindexter, also unmarried, applied 25 Aug 1896 at Bean Shoals. She stated she was the daughter of William A. Poindexter, another son [eldest] of William Pledge Poindexter.
I could not find her in a census. She married Mark Taylor, 25 Nov 1900, Yadkin Co NC

Flora A. Martin, who was a daughter of John A. & Paulina Poindexter, applied 24 Aug 1896. John A. was a son of Thomas H. Poindexter, son of William Pedge Poindexter, so Flora was actually a great, great granddaughter of Bettie Pledge. She stated she was the wife of W. A. Martin. She did not list her minor children. Her husband Wesley A. Martin was also a descendant and he listed and included the four daughters then born. Weley was a son of Bennett & Martha Truelove Martin; Martha a daughter of Jack Poindexter.
