Cashatt, John: 1 male over 16, 2 under 16, 5 females.

John signed his will 17 Nov 1810. He was then living in Chatham Co NC. He left to his beloved wife Margaret, the land where the were living for her widowhood and at her decease to be sold and equally divided among all his children. She is to have the stock, furniture, etc. All my estate, real & personal, to be sold after the decease of Margaret and the money equally divided among all my children. To daughter Margaret, the horse she claims, two head of cattle, two beds & furniture. To daughter Dorkes, one colt which she now claims, two head of cattle, one bed & furniture. To Grandaughter Mary Cashatt, one chest. Son John and friend Thomas Hadley to be executors.

In the name of God xxx the 27th day of November 1810 of John Cashatt of the County of Chatham and the State of North Carolina being weak in body but sound and perfect mind and memory blessed by God therefore calling to mind the motallity of my body and knowing it is appointed for all Men once to die Do make and ordain this my last will and Testment in manner and form following that is to say - my will is that my first debts and funeral charges be paid ------------------- also I give and bequeath unto my Beloved wife Margaret the Land wheron I now live during her widdowhood or life and at her Deceas it is my will it shall be sold and devided equally among all my Children it is also my will that she shall have all the stock of every kind that I now poses during her widowhood or life and it is my will that she shall have all the household furniture of every description during her widowhood or life and it is also my will that all my Estate Rail and personal shall be sold after the Deces of my wife Margaret and themoney Equally divided amongs all my Children and it is my will that my wife margaret shall not have any priviledges to sel or give any of the above mentioned estate without the leave of my executors.
I also will and Bequeath unto my daughter Margaret one horse which she now claims and also two head of Cattle and also two beds and furniture of will and Bequeath unto her her heirs and assigns forever. I likewise will and Bequeath unto my Daughter Dorkes one Coult which she now Claims allso two head of Cattle and one bed and furniture to her and her heirs for ever. I allso will and Bequeath unto my Grandaughter Mary Cashatt one Chest to her and her heirs for ever------- and I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend Thomas Hadley and my son John Cashatt executors of this my last will and testament in writings wherefo I the said John Cashatt senior have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
