Martha's grandfather, John Lamberson was deceased by 1865 when her husband was named as Alexander Miller in the settlement. In 1876, apparently the date of the final settlement of the estate, it was stated: "Martha J. Miller is a lunatic confined to the asylym at Tuscaloosa, William A. Miller being guardian ad litem"
