Elizabeth ADAMSON

(11 Sep 1819 - )

That there was a daughter Elizabeth is proved by the following record:
1823, 2, 22 Abraham & family (s: Evan, John, Benjamin & Enos) were received on certificate from Newberry MM, dated 1822, 12, 7. On the same day Eleanor and daughter Elizabeth were also received on certificate from Newberry.
Then they went back to Newberry because they were granted certificates for Newberry MM TN, 1827, 5, 26.

Said to have married John Hodson.

A marriage of an Elizabeth Adamson in 1847 in Jasper Co, Iowa would certainly seem to be a daughter of Abraham since he was the only Adamson with daughters of marriage age that early. Elizabeth Ann Adamson married James Edgar on 10 Apr 1847. The 1850 census of Jasper Co has James Edgar as age 27, born in Ohio, with Elizabeth, age 20, born Indiana, and Theodore, age 2, born Iowa. This indicates Elizabeth was born circa 1830 and could not be same as the daughter received into the Monthly Meeting. Could she have been a granddaughter?
