William Anderson and Martha, wife of Nancy's brother James, were the children of Isaac Anderson and Margaret Evans.
The eldest child of William and Nancy was Rev. Isaac Anderson, born 10 miles from Lexington in Rockbridge Co VA on 26 Mar 1780. Preacher, theologian and educator. Both paternal and maternal grandparents were Scotch-Irish who emigranted from Ireland in the early part of the 1700's. He married Flora McCampbell, daughter of Andrew in 1802. Only one of six children, Samuel, lived to maturity and he died in 1841. His last years were spent in Blount Co TN with his daughter-in-law and her second husband Rev. John Caldwell. He died 28 Jan 1857.
Dr. Anderson organized the Washington Presbyterian Church in Knox Co TN and established the school, Union Academy. He was a principal agent in establishing the Southern & Western Theological Seminary, later Maryville College.
