Individual Details

The DuVal book in one place states that this is the William Claiborne who died in London and whose will was proved in both Virginia and in London in 1746. This does not seem quite possible - that will showed the William visiting in London, to have several married daughters and at least one grandchild. There just don't seem to be quite enough years. A different lineage for the William who died in England, is also given in the book - that one seems more correct.
