Joseph Dexter
(1750 - 1811)
When Joseph's grandfather Stephen Dexter died, he became the heir of his estate as the oldest son and heir at law of his deceased father, Joseph Dexter, the right of primogeniture then being the law of Rhode Island. Joseph died intestate and without issue in 1811. His brother Moses then inherited in fee simple but he died in the latter part of 1825, also intestate and without issue.
