Hanover County Tithable list dated 1763 - Anthony Haden with 200 acres. He was at that time remarried to the widow Isabel Clement and this may have been her property, as noted in the Will of her Clement husband. He would have been 70 in 1764. Anthony is not found after this date. The deed of sale of his son Zachariah in Goochland in 1774, indicates that Anthony was certainly deceased by 1774, and that he had left the tract to Zachariah in a will, undoubtedly recorded in Hanover County, where he was living and where so many records are lost. Their prenuptial agreement written in Hanover County survived because a copy had been sent to North Carolina - see records of son Simon.

Some have made the claim she was Isabella Lutley, daughter of a Phillip Lutley - I have found no basis for this assertion. The claim was that an Isabella Lutley married to a Clements - in England, his given name unidentified and no date for such a marriage. Others cite no daughter of Philip named Isabella. Births that are cited for his named daughters have dates from 1712-1717. No age is documented for Isabel Clement Haden, but the likely ages of her Clement sons would place her marriage, not her birth approximately in this range. Since no actual record is evident it is likely that this was one of those many false assumptions made in early research - never proved.
