Gabriel is said to have married Peggy Ann Ayer, daughter of Zaccheus Ayer, 24 Jul 1815 in Roane Co TN. A death date of 1826 is given for him, but that seems to be the death of his father, unless they both died the same year. I did not find a Gabriel of the proper age but did find a widow Margaret, living in Carr Twp, Jackson Co IN in 1830, along with George Richards.

George Richards and Abner Walters, their nephew, a son of their sister Elizabeth, were adjacent on the same page in this census.

Margret Richards: 2m 5-10, 1m 10-15. 1f -5, 1f 10-15, 1f 30-40

Margret didn't seem to be listed in 1840, but there was a Wm.H.Richards. He had 1m 20-30, 1f -5, 1f 15-20, and 1f 20-30. His age would be compatible with the son age 10-15 in 1830.

Thomas J. Reed married Elizabeth Richards, 18 Dec 1836, Lawrence Co
Asa B. Richards married Sarah S. Ridge, 11 Nov 1849, in Monroe Co.

The 1850 census has possible sons for Margaret Richards - William & Asa - and a possible daughter Elizabeth, whose ages match those children with her in 1830.

There was also in Carr Twp, Jackson Co IN, a young Gabriel Richards, born perhaps too early to be a son of Gabriel & Margaret [Peggy], but he may well have been a nephew.

Hannah E. 14. Eliza J. age 9. Margaret M. age 7. A William Richards, age 18, b. 18, was a Laborer living in the household of David Sellers.
Indiana Marriages reveals Gabriel Richards married Sally Cone, 29 May 1821, Lawrence Co.
