William said to have married Polly Phillips in 1806 and relocated in Louisville.
Tennessee marriages gives their marriage as 10 Aug 1806 in Roane Co TN.

I could never find a census record that I thought belonged to William. There was a Wm Richards of the correct age in Lawrence Co IN in 1840; he would have been age 60. Lawrence Co was formed from Jackson Co and is where some of the family was found.
Wm Richards, 1m age 60-70, 1f age 40-60. And a younger Wm Richards, 1m 20-30, 1f 20-30.
I also found the following marriage in Lawrence Co, which could have been the younger William: William Richards to Hannah Bass, 10 Apr 1831.

In 1850 in Flinn Twp, Lawrence Co, I found a William Richards, age 35, b. IN. His wife was Sarah, age 31. And there was 3-year-old Mary. A young man, James Harvey, age 15, also lived with William. Since Sally & Rhoda Richards both married Harveys this seems notable.
