Mary is thought to be the daughter of William Redford, whose wife was Mary, perhaps Mary Stratton.

William Redford's Will dated 10 Jan 1752 and proved 19 May 1752. Recorded in Goochland County. Sons Milner and Edward to receive land. Daughters Martha, Mary, Milly, and "youngest" to receive a slave. He does say "six children". Loving "wife", brother John Redford, and friend Thomas Pleasants, executors. Signed: William Redford. Wit: Thos. Pleasants, Robt Cary. Proved by Robt Cary on 19 May 1752.
