Mrs. Stacy in her manuscript, stated that this son John, born the same year his father died, married Hannah, and they had a son Noel born 1754. She never says definitely but infers that this is the Noel found in Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties.

In the St Peters Parish Register there is a birth, Noel, son of John & Hannah, b. 6 Aug 1754. This particular John would have been aged 35 at the birth of Noel - there are no other births recorded to a John & Hannah. I have seen nothing to prove that the John born to Charles Waddill in 1719 is the same John, husband of Hannah.

The biggest problem with this Noel, born 1754, is that the Noel Waddill found in Halifax Co apparently gave consent for his daughter Frankey [Frances] to marry Joseph Gholston in August of 1779. This is only 25 years later - this Noel could not possibly have had a daughter old enough to marry.

I have also found evidence of a Noel Waddell who lived in Wilkes Co NC - 1810, 1820 and 1830 census. In 1830, his age was given as 70-80, or born between 1750 and 1760, as was this Noel, son of John and Hannah. Descendants believe him to be this man. The family apparently lived first in Surry Co, as a Noel Waddel is on a tax list in Surry Co NC in 1787 and 1790. Wilkes had been formed from Surry Co in 1778. Births of known children are between 1782 and 1803 which is feasible.
The Noel of Wilkes Co NC had sons named Grancer/Charles, Claiborne, Levi, Arthur, Clemmuel, James, and maybe a John. [No help with family names.] There was a daughter Sarah and the earliest censuses show other children, both male and female. The family was probably the same as the family of "Noil Waddle" in Surry Co NC in 1790 since the counties are adjacent.

HOWEVER, there was also Noel Waddill, born in New Kent Co in 1753 to George & Susanna Waddill. Same age. I found that in Southampton Co VA in 1830 is another Noel Waddle, age 70-80. This man was also in that place in 1810 and 1820.
