1900 Census, Jackson Co TN. John L. Bean, age 58, b. Feb 1842. Married 32 years. He and his parents born in TN. Sarrah E. wife, b. Jan 1844, age 56. She has had 8 children, 6 are living. John S., son, b. Nov. 1877, age 23. James M., son b. Jun 1880, age 20. Jefferson C., son, b. Jan 1886, age 14

1910. John L. and Sary E. were both still living. John gave his age as 68, hers as 66. They had been married 44 years. Six of her children are still living - Jefferson is still at home, age 24.

John L. Bean is buried Wasson/Wilmouth Cemetery, Cookeville, Putnam Co TN. The FindAGrave post has his service record in the Civil War - he was in Co. K, Regt 28 (Consolidated), Tennessee Confederate Infantry, served as a private and then corporal. He enlisted 7 Sep 1861.

There is online in the Tennessee Death Records, 1908-1958, at Ancestry, a death certificate for
Jno. L. Bean, who died at the Nashville Central Hospital in Nashville, Davidson, TN, on August 31, 1917, of pneumonia and chronic nephritis. Insanity said to be a contributing factor - he was said to be age 72, born in 1845 in Tennessee - no definite date. He was a farmer. The information came from hospital records. Said to have been in this place of residence - presumably Nashville - for two years; his former residence was Cookeville. He was buried Cookeville, TN - on the same day as his death - the doctor said he last saw him alive on August 30th.
