Individual Details

Alexander lived in the same places as the Wishards - Shelby Co IN and then Davis Co IA. Silas named a son Alexander; Margaret Breeding & William Wishard named a daughter Alexandria. In 1840 and in 1850 Alexander is shown with a wife a bit two young to be the parents of Silas, Polly & Margaret. I am making several assumptions but I suspect they are correct.

In 1840, there was in Shelby Co, one male age 15-20 [not Silas as he had already married], one male age 40-50. 1 females under age 5 [Harriet and ?] one daughter bet 5-10 [Sophia] 2 dau bet 10-15, 1 dau 15-20 [Margaret], probable spouse age 30-40 [Mary]

In 1850, Alexander was listed as age 54, b. KY, Mary was 43, also b. KY. Sophia 16, Harriett 14, Alexander 7, Caroline 9, John 5, Tabitha 4, and Lucinda age 5 months. Samuel Thompson age 16 was also living with the family. All the young people were listed as born in Iowa but if the family came to Davis Co about the same time as the Wishards, several of the them were born back in Indiana.

In 1860, Caroline, Alexander, John & Tabitha were all listed as born in Indiana. There was also a Mary age 11 - no surname given, born in Iowa - that was after all the children of Alexander & Mary.
