Lavina Owens married Edgar Becker March 17, 1888, in Shelby Co. , Indiana. They were parents of five children:
Elmer James, Chester Raymond, Ova Harlow, Hazel, and Laura Susan. The youngest child died a day after Lavina, and both were buried the same day.

By 1900, Edgar Becker has altered his name to Edward Baker.

BAKER - At her home in Clifford Saturday morning at 3 o'clock, Mrs. Ed Baker, aged about forty years, died of general debility.
On Sunday morning, a daughter, aged three years, died, and the funeral of both mother and daughter was held at Clifford M. E. church on Monday morning, Aug. 6, conducted by Rev. E. M. Chambers. Interment at Flatrock Cemetery [Clifford, Bartholomew Co, IN]


There is a Social Security record for Elmer J. Baker, b. 25 Apr 1889, IN, child of Edward Baker & Lavinnie Owens. This calls into question the birth stated for Chester in his death certificate.

Chester Raymond Baker, died 8 Jul 1956, Louisa, Lawrence Co, KY of coronary occlusion - found dead in bed. His usual residence was Greentown, Howard Co, IN. He was born 8 Oct 1889 in Taylorsville, IN. He was married, a retired farmer. His father was Edward Baker; his mother, Vinie Owens. Mrs. Ona Baker of Greentown was the informant. Buried Albright Cemetery, Kokomo, IN.

There is also marriage record for Ova H. Baker, born 3 May 1892, Columbus, IN, in Medaryville IN. Parents were Lovina Owerns & Edward Baker. No husband's name given in index.
