James WILLIAMS

(Abt 1802 - )

James said to have married Nancy Estes and had children Elizabeth and John. Died Starke Co, IN, 19 Aug 1858. I do not find him in Indiana in 1850 - there are too many men named James Williams - Nancy could have died prior to 1850 and the children grown. Not enough to go on.

FamilySearch tree gives a second marriage to Victoria F. Welch, 27 Nov 1823, Orange, NC, with eight children born to the couple.

In 1826 James, with his wife and two children, made the journey to the states north of the Ohio River. A blind horse drew the wagon containing the household goods, while the family walked the whole way. Three other families accompanied them."
