Joshua Patrick C. Mayberry

(13 Nov 1839 - 12 Dec 1915)



Joshua served in the Civil War. Capt, Co F, 5th VA Reserves. Joshua sold the land inherited by himself and his brother Jesse Lee to their brother-in-law, Christopher Turman in 1867 and probably took his family to Illinois to join his sister Amelia Thompson, brother Jesse, and Susan's brothers Madison, Addison, and Solomon, as well as some of sister Irenia Mabry Cox's children. Joshua and Susan are buried in Holland Cemetery in Hancock Co. His obituary stated he was the father of five, two of them having died before he did.
