Family in 1850 Census, Jackson County, TN Wade W. Pippin, age 23, also living in household. Wade was his uncle, son of Joseph by the second wife.
James & Alice had six children. James had two daughters by second wife Nancy Mariah Jane Dyer.
James Willis served as a private in Co E, 28th TN Regt, CSA. He died of tuberculosis while in service and his son Willis who was serving in the same unit, brought his father home on horseback to bury him in the family plot.
