From SOME ANCIENT LANDOWNERS IN SAINT MARTIN'S PARISH; HANOVER COUNTY, VIRGINIA, by Norine Campbell Gregory, 2001, p.348
"Elizabeth Smith was apparently the dau or grand-dau of the prominent George Smith early in St. Peter's Parish [he died bef 2 Nov 1691]. When Smith patented 200 acres on the south side of York River, Mar 1652, his headrights were Geo. Smith, Phill. Crafford, John Crafford, Elizab. Crafford. Smith patented much land in New Kent, some near Edmonds & Terrell on Cattail Swamp.
