William married 25 Feb 1847 to Margaret Permelia Cunningham.

In the 1850 census, both Benjamin and William were still living at home with their parents, Elijah & Sarah Dennis Sebastian. William & Permelia's young boy is listed after Benjamin's wife Sarah. This has been misinterpreted by many and Permelia and Sarah [daughter-in-law], and the six-month-old baby, are often seen as children of Elijah & Sarah.

Benjamin 29, William 26, Permelia 22, Sarah 20, and Palitha P.S., 6 months old, a male child. All the younger folks born in Missouri. Permelia was the wife of William, Sarah the wife of Benjamin, as proved by marriage records in St. Francois. The baby must have been the child that would appear in 1860 as Benjamin Franklin, son of William & Permelia, age 11.
