Susannah applied 20 Nov 1838, Charlotte Co, VA. Aged 84 years. Cuthbert ws a soldier and ensign in the militia. Her memory is impaired but she married him before the War, but he was drafted and she was left alone with her children. He served 3 months, 1780, as a private and was in the battle of Gates Defeat. That 7 May 1781, he was commisioned and he went to the South and was an Ensign at the siege of Yorktown. Her husband died in November of 1812. Testimony as to her marriage and subsequent widowhood made by Danl. W. Williamson. Pension was allowed to Commence 4 Mar 1831.

I think it likely Susannah was married previously as well as Cuthbert. In her will of 1840 she named two daughters of hers that were not mentioned in Cuthbert's will in 1812. As her name was still Susanna Williamson, she had not remarried since Cuthbert's death. These daughters were Mary who married Nathan Harvey on 3 Sep 1792 in Charlotte Co and Martha who married John R. Roach on 5 Dec 1796.
