Rootsweb Bulletin Board post of 13 Mar 1998. John White was probably the son of Col. John White of Hanover.

There is speculation that John White's wife Mary was Mary Price given the close association between the White, Price and Williamson families. In another place I've seen her name as Mary Johnson. No proof.

CHARLOTTE CO VA WILL BOOK 1; pp.141-142. Will of John White written 2 Mar 1782, proved 4 Nov 1782. Names Grandson John Madison, son of Henry Madison; Mary Grigg daughter of James Grigg [granddaughter], Charles Williamson [grandson] son of Cutbirth Williamson, Son William, Son Matthew, Son Daniel, Daughter Sarah White, beloved wife Mary White. Slaves lent to beloved wife Mary to be divided at her decease between daughters Martha Madison, Mary Rakestraw, Susanna Williamson and Sarah White. Executors: William, Daniel, Mathew, and Samuel. Wit: William Price, William Price Jr, Thomas North, Russell (X) Brown. Codicil on 13 Apr 1782: Negro and horse to son Samuel; horse to Daniel. Codicil signed with his mark, although signature attached to will. Wit: Martin Baker, Mary Baker, Russell (X) Brown.
