Texas Death Certificate #49451 for C. B. Sutherland of 502 N. Benton St., Corsicana. He was married when he died 2 Nov 1928. He was born 11 Jan 1858 in New York, and lived 70 yrs, 9 mos, 21 days. He was an Undertaken and "Furniture Man". He did of Bright's Disease [kidney disease] His father was Arthur Sutherland, born in Ireland and his mother was Martha Barrington, also born in Ireland. Mrs. C. B. Sutherland was the informant. C. B. was buried Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana on Nov. 4th.

Texas Death Certificate #32477 for Mrs. Belle Sutherland. She was still living at 502 N. Benton St, but died at the Navarro Clinic on 17 Jun 1936 of erysipelas [streptococcus bacteria of the face, now easily cured with antibiotics]. She was the widow of C. B. Sutherland. Belle was born 8the Feb 1859 in Texas, daughter of M. H. Bird and Araminta Fry, both born in Missouri. Mrs. Bettie Harris [her sister] was the informant. Sutherland-McCammon Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Rites Planned For Mrs. Sutherland at 5 p.m. Thursday
Native Navarro County and Resident Corsicana Many Years Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. C.G. Sutherland, aged 77 years, 562 North Beaton street, who died in the Navarro Clinic at an early hour Wednesday morning, are scheduled to be held from the First Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock with interment in Oakwood cemetery. The rites will be conducted by Rev. W.R. Hall, pastor of the church. Mrs. Sutherland had been a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Sutherland was a native of Navarro county and had resided in Corsicana practically all of her life. She was the widow of the late Bank [sic, Christopher Barrington] Sutherland, pioneer merchant and funeral director of Corsicana, and long an active leader and official of the IOOF in Texas. She was vice-president of nieces and nephews??[transcribed as written]
Pallbearers will be the following nephew and great-nephews: Harry Bird, Oscar Bird, Wilbur Harris, Ben Harris, Landis McDaniel, Arthur Wareing, Leslie Wareing, Edgar Wareing, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judge C.L. Jester, Dr. E.A. Hohnson, Judge J.M. Blanding, officers of the First Presbyterian church and friends of the family.
Sutherland McCammon Funeral Home, assisted by A.W. Wareing, will direct the service.
