John Wilson

Information on the Wilson's given to me by Margy Granger
Sarah Boone was born "during Governor Martin's term", probably 1781 or 1782. [Note: I believe this date is off by 20 years, based on ages of her children and her marriage date.] She had died before Jun 1823 when John March, administrator of her estate sought permission to sell some of her slaves. The fact that she had an estate would also indicate John Wilson had already died and in fact guardianships of his children indicate his death before 1812. The children are named in loose estate papers at the NC archives and in Rowan Co Division of Estates, Book A: p.78. 22-24 Dec 1812. 10 lots of 39 acres each were set off for 10 children.
26 Aug 1812, Jacob Fisher was guardian of Henderson, Zebiah [Sabitha], Alford & James, and he presented accounts through 27 Aug 1817.
Jesse Haden was guardian of John, Boone, Mary & Spruce Wilson and presented a return dated Nov 1813. The 1815 Tax list also shows Jesse Haden as declaring tax for Boone and Spruce.
26 Nov 1826, Henderson Wilson asked for guardianship of Alfred and James.
I found the following, which somewhat matches the children's names of John Wilson. And no wife is named. This is apparently the will of John's father of the same name - the Boone family genealogy states that Mary, daughter of John Wilson, married Benjamin Boone.
